If you are a regular member and want to make your tournament official it isn't that hard, you just need to meet these requirements:
1) You must offer a prize of a least $5 in value (such as 500 Wii Points)
2) You must not have any unreasonable rules
3) You must allow myself or a global moderator to be present to help run it
4) You give Super Smash BC the right to promote your tournament and use it and the results in any promotional material
5) There must be 8 members show up in order for winners to receive credits for SSBC (you can still hold it with less than 8, just there will be no credits given by the site)
I'll elaborate on #2 a little bit. I'm not trying to restrict the setting in the tournament much, you can have all times of different setting (you could have items on, or play coin matches), but I have seen several tournaments on multiple sites with some rules I just don't agree with, so they need to be fair. For example, while it is fine to have a Fox tournament or a tournament using only Mario or Zelda series characters, I won't allow an official tournament that uses every character except Pikachu for example (some hosts will exclude characters just because they don't fair well against them). Some other examples of rules I would not allow which I have seen before are rules such as "no spamming" or "no suicide kills."
I'm not going to make a full list of every rule allowed or not allowed. The stupid rules that people can come up with are endless. Just no stupid rules. I will make the final decision on it.
To make your tournament just create your tournament here in the unofficial tournaments section and send me a pm requesting it be made official. I will review the settings, and if I believe they are fair and I can find a moderator to show up I will move it to the official tournament section.
