Prizes Cancelled!!!

This has been cancelled/delayed for the time being. I apologize greatly for this to those of you who were participating

In order to help promote the new ladder, I'm going to be giving away 2 VC games/Wiiware games (1000 points and 500 points). After 1 month (Nov 25), there is going to be a raffle and those who are in the top 10 in the ladder will be entered in. The number of entries each person receives will be based on their standings in the ladder. The % of entries will be as follows:

1st - 40%
2nd - 20%
3rd - 10%
4th - 8%
5th - 7%
6th - 5%
7th - 4%
8th - 3%
9th - 2%
10th - 1%

Each person can only win 1 of the prizes. There will be 2 names drawn, and the person with the highest score (best ladder finish) will be given the 1000 point prize and the other will receive the 500 point prize.

I know several of you are going to ask why not just give it to the top 2. The reason is because I want everyone to have a chance to win. This is supposed to promote the ladder, but many players know they don't have a shot at the top 2, so there will be no incentive for them. A whole lot more people do have a chance at cracking the top 10 though. And with 40% of the entries and 2 chances, there are very good odds the winner of the ladder will win a drawing anyways.

Since there's 20 on the ladder, do we have to start from the bottom or can we challenge someone in the top 10?

You can challenge anyone on the ladder you want. It isn't one of those ladders where you win and you move up. It's all dependent on your score. If you lose, your score goes down, if you win it goes up. If you beat a high ranked opponent your score will go up more than if you beat a low ranked opponent. If you lose to a high ranked opponent it will go down less than if you lose to a low ranked one.

i mean like if they remain inactive to the end is their score counted... because at default theyre higher then some... i think its unfair.

Just make sure you get above the default score then.

I am sorry, but I am going to have to cancel the prizes for this. Basically I am going through some financial problems and I can not guarantee that I will be able to provide these prizes at the end of the contest. I know this looks terrible, but I figured it would be better to cancel it now while there aren't too many people into it rather than come the end of the contest and not be able to provide the prizes.

It isn't anything extremely serious, I'm not going to consider selling the site or anything like that, so don't worry about that (I know I would get some of those questions, lol). It's something many college students go through when unexpected expenses come up. Again, I am sincerely sorry to cancel this, but it is something I have to do.
