So, any other Fire Emblem junkies like myself around?

To quote Wikipedia for those who don't know about the series:

"Fire Emblem is a tactical role-playing games franchise developed by Intelligent Systems (specifically Shouzou Kaga), the makers of Advance Wars (which shares some of Fire Emblem's strategic elements), and published by Nintendo Co., Ltd. The Fire Emblem series is well-known for its innovation and for being one of the first tactical role-playing game, with a strong emphasis on Western forms of medieval folklore. The series is also renowned for having deeply developed characters, as well as the fact that most units' deathóor defeat in battleóis permanent in the game until the end of the playthrough. The series currently spans ten games, and has been released on the Famicom, Super Famicom, Game Boy Advance, GameCube and Wii."

My current favorite is Fire Emblem 7 (just plain "Fire Emblem" in the US), mostly cause it was my introduction to the series and it left the biggest impression. what with the badass Hector, the psychotic villain Nergal, as well as the internal conflicts taking place among the game's evil organization, the Black Fang. Gameplay-wise though, Radiant Dawn (FE10) is warming up to me, mostly cause the skill system is highly improved over the previous game, and it's been really challenging so far.

I'm not a fire emblem junkie, but I like the series very much. My favorite character from fire emblem would have to be Roy.

Yup, I'm a fire emblem fan too, I've only played two of the games though so my favourite would have to be radiant dawn since i think its better than path of radiance. I also plan on getting some more fire emblem games.

The only Fire Emblem I ever played was Fire Emblem for GBA. I thought it was an extremely good game. I also didn't realize it was rare until I was selling my old games on ebay this summer and this one went for $60! I had bought it for $25 several years ago, so I made $35 plus got to play a great game. I was lucky I had stored the box and instructions and everything away so they were in perfect condition.

@ smash_king: Ah, that's awesome. Yeah it's pretty rare, though I'm never selling my copy. Too many good memories behind it. That and It's the only game where I've unlocked ALL of the support conversations.

@smashplaya: The two GBA games are a must-play, the original more so than Sacred Stones. However, be warned, there's no Battle save feature like in Radiant Dawn, so don't expect to be able to re-do any mistake, since if you DO reset the game, it'll just automatically do the action that was being taken when the game was turned off.

im in LOVE with FE. (well that and MegaMan are kinda my vices, along with Smash)

they are currently in the process of making an FE game for the DS, that will be tight. My favourite game as of now though is actually Path of Radiance. I felt it had a strong story, with its over laying racisim towards the laguz. also, Tibarn was a god in the game (and Radiant Dawn too i guess) but i do like the new aspects in Radiant Dawn...I guess i like the story of PoR best, and the gameplay of RD

I thought path of radiance was good too, but it got a pretty low score, which I disagree with.

All Fire Emblem's are REALLY good... but I could never beat any of them. I keep on trying though.

haha, i found them all to merely have a certain stratergy that the makers of the game made to be a 'perfect' one. if you could find out that startergy, levels become ridiculously easy, unless of course your opponent gets luckky with a crit. strike :evil:

Path of Radiance was fun for me until I got Ike at max level with Aether and Ragnell.

After that, I quite literally beat every single stage using Ike alone, last stage included.

Short list would be Ike, Soren, Titania, Greil, Boyd, Shinon, Rolf, Gatrie, Mia, Nephenee, the Black Knight, Ashnard, Mist, Ranulf, Lethe, Mordecai, Tibarn, Rheyson, Naesalla and the like.

A full list... would take a while. O.o; They all show up in Radiant Dawn anyway, cept for the ones who die anyway.

the only none returning character in Radiant Dawn is Largo. i didnt like him anyways, so we are better off :D

as for units, i only used Ike moderatlely. I really over used Sothe and Volke though (i like thieves/assassins >.>) but at the end where it shows you how many kills everyone got, it showed that i used Oscar the most. he had 50 more kills than the next closest unit.

I didn't use Sothe in my PoR playthrough cause he couldn't be promoted, which annoyed me to hell and back.

Srsly though, Ike in PoR is the most over-powered unit ever. He hardly ever got hurt, and when he did, he'd use Aether quite too often and instantly recover the HP he lost.

I say Largo was removed just so they didn't have to use the Berserker class in the game, seeing how how thar are none in Radiant Dawn.

Ike could also possibly be the worst promoted unit, depending on the random stat generations.

i used Sothe alot cuz he dodged alot, was very fast, and if you got him some good knives, he could definatly hold his own as a front line fighter.

I really didn't like Sothe all that much in PoR. I always thought that he was a useless character that kept on dieng every freaking time I tried to use him. The only reason why he was useless in my game was because I used Ike a lot. Oh and by the way I did not complete PoR. To tell you the truth I never finished RD either. I should work on it if I don't get brawl soon.

I finished PoR, but I haven't beaten RD yet, I'm on Part IV though. If I don't get Brawl on Tuesday, I'll be beating it before Sunday at 12.

My addiction to Fire Emblem started with the GCN game. That one is my favorite at the moment, but I haven't gotten too far into Raidiant Dawn either. My favorite character would have to be Soren.

lol your like my brother. i use soren as cannon fodder. he goes in front of my weaker mages/bow users. if he dies, i dont care XD im not much of a magic fan anyways.
