GameStop Tournament [Archive]

I do not know any of the details, but I have heard from several sources that many GameStops will be hosting a tournament leading up to the midnight release of brawl. I've heard it will be scheduled to end about midnight, and that afterwards one will be able to buy the game. If you are interested you might want to contact your local GameStop and see if they are participating.

I've actually went to gamestop and spoke with the manager and it turns out 9 out of 10 games stops will be doing the tourny

i heard its gonna have a whacked out format, like winner keeps playing until theres no competitors left, thats stupid.

Its just a simple 1 min 1v1 match, and is in the format of a single elimination bracket. The official rules are on gamestop's website.

Being cocky is the first step to getting your ass beat, izzi! That's one of my morals of gameplay, and I suggest you stick to it, cuz they're rarely ever wrong.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst!

Glad it's not just me that thinks that way. I want to get through the first round, but I'm not going to say "I'm totally getting through". I'm just going to try and get through. If I don't, no big deal. Besides, afterward, I'll have the game.

What your forgetting is that just about EVERYONE is good, according to them. I'm going with a few of my friends, and one of them is ranked #4 in my district, or region, w/e. I've never faced him, and I'm afraid that he's gonna kill me!
