We need your help to increase our Alexa Rating. The Alexa Rating is a ranking system that rates websites based on the level of traffic from people who have the alexa toolbar installed. Right now we have a very low ranking, of over 3.1 million. I think we could improve that drastically. To do this, we need to get more traffic with people who have installed the Alexa toolbar. The easiest way to do this, is for you members who already come here to install it yourself.

You do not have to install it, but if you want to help out it is very easy to do. If you use internet explorer simply visit here (http://www.alexa.com/site/download/) to download the alexa toolbar, or if you use firefox then visit here (http://www.quirk.biz/searchstatus/) to install searchstatus, which is about the same as the alexa toolbar but is slightly better (it will also show google page rank, of which we have none right now). If you don't have ie or firefox, thank you for your interest, but I'm sorry, you can't download it.

I have installed searchstatus on my firefox browser and it is very unintrusive and actually useful. It just puts a few images which show the ranks of the page you are on down in the bottom right hand corner. I do not have internet explorer, so I really don't know much about the plain alexa toolbar.

Again, you do not need to do this (I won't know whether you do or not anyway), but if you are looking for a way to help Super Smash BC, here is something very simple you can do that could be a big help.

The Alexa Ranking only counts hits that come from users with the alexa toolbar or searchstatus (it isn't really fair, but I can't really do anything about it). Many companies use the alexa ranking to evaluate a web site. Having a higher alexa rating would help the site by increasing the sites rank in some search engines, increasing the revenue from ads, and some other things.

If that didn't help any could you be more specific about what you are confused about.

Oh, that is no problem at all. I don't want anyone to install anything they don't want to. I just thought I would ask for those of you who don't mind.

last i checked, it said something like "the Alexa toolbar is currently unavailable for windows vista. we are working to solve this problem. thank you for... (random gratitude crap, not worth typing)".

and wow, someone who finally agrees that vista is bad.it'd be greatif they would just fix the bugs in it already >_>.

internet explorer. i was going to switch, but firefox is so slow on my laptop. i was able to watch 3 tv shows before it was able to load my homepage. and no, it isn't a huge page, it's http://www.youfail.org

although i blame my laptop. not vista. not firefox, my laptop.

Wow, I can't believe firefox is slower than ie. I've never had problems with firefox. Although I actually use safari most of the time, except when visiting this site, so I can have the toolbar installed.

I've never really had a problem with IE so I've always used it

I guess Alexa has changed so we don't need the toolbar. I'm not sure exactly how it works though, I'll need to look at it some more. We have gotten up up to the top 500k now. Let's try and break into 5 digits now :)
