I just got Mario Kart Wii today, and first off, it is pretty awesome. For the most part there is no noticeable lag online. The only thing that was really noticeable is there is a delay in when another kart runs over an item, whether it be a question block or picking up a coin in battle mode. And to me that really isn't bothersome at all.

Anyway, the only thing I have used so far is the Wii wheel, and while I don't have anything to compare it to really yet, I have to say I love it. It works much better than I expected. It actually took me a few minutes to get used to, as I kept wanting to tilt the wheel instead of turning it, probably because I have played several other games that worked by tilting the remote, but other than that I had no problems. I will try the other controls, but I can't see myself using them because they could only be slightly better at best, and even if they are they can't be as much fun, and for me that is what matters the most (outside of tournaments of course).

The wii wheel is really fun to use. It took me a while to get use to it but it was worth it. I didn't know whether tho use automatic or manual first so I used automatic and I didn't know how to drift. THe drift takes a while to get use to though. I still waggle the wii wheel back and forth every time I drift.

I have never used automatic drift. I know you can't get the mini boosts from it so I didn't think it seemed worth it. It really doesn't take much time to learn how to drift correctly.

I think the Nunchuk Controller combination is the best. Its harder to drift with the wheel, having to always turn it back and fourth.

Also, its easier to get draft on a dead straight away with the controller, as I think the calibration of the wheel/remote is too loose for most racing I'm use to with wheels, so I'm just not use to it.(Gran Turismo etc.)

I use Wheel 20% of the time and dropping, according to my License Records. =) Best thing hands down with Mario Kart is its ability to keep stats, ghost trials worldwide, kick ass online, ranking system, and records!
